The Big Energy Walk
The Big Energy Walk is a family-friendly, non-competitive 5K walk/run held at the Holtsville Ecology Center in Holtsville, NY on Sunday, October 18, 2026. The event is organized in partnership with the Suffolk County Chapter of CHADD and will donate 100% of net proceeds to that chapter.
The event includes check-in, opening remarks, a 5K walk/run and a raffle with winners required to be present to claim prizes. The event is stroller friendly and will provide free parking for participants. It is a rain-or-shine event; organizers may delay, modify, reschedule or cancel in cases of severe weather or unsafe conditions.
Advanced registration is required and closes on October 17, 2026. Registration is non-refundable and non-transferable. Complimentary event T-shirts are guaranteed for participants ages 5 and up who register by September 29, 2026; children ages 4 and under may register for free but are not guaranteed a T-shirt. The event is explicitly non-timed and non-competitive.
The event promotes awareness of ADHD, aims to reduce stigma and to connect families with support and resources through the local CHADD chapter. Pricing tiers vary by registration date and by age category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
