The Big Energy Walk 5K
The Big Energy Walk is a family-friendly, non-competitive 5K walk/run in Holtsville held in partnership with the Suffolk County chapter of CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder). The event is organized to raise awareness about ADHD, reduce stigma, and connect families with local support and resources. One hundred percent of net proceeds will benefit CHADD of Suffolk County.
The event takes place at the Holtsville Ecology Center, 249 Buckley Rd, Holtsville, NY 11742. Parking is free for all participants. The program includes participant check-in and T-shirt pickup, opening remarks, a raffle with winners announced after the walk/run, and other on-site activities. The event is stroller friendly and is explicitly non-timed and non-competitive. It is scheduled as a rain-or-shine event; organizers reserve the right to delay, modify, reschedule, or cancel in case of severe weather or unsafe conditions.
Advanced registration is required and follows tiered pricing. Early, regular, and late registration periods are offered with different fees for adults and children; children ages four and under may register for free. Complimentary event T-shirts are guaranteed for participants ages five and up who register by September 20, 2026; shirts will be distributed at the event.
