The event is organized as smaller, capped waves to limit field size; waves can sell out and a waitlist and a virtual option are available when waves fill. Participants receive mailed race swag for U.S. addresses, including a running T-shirt, finisher's medal, and a virtual training run emailed about a month before the event. There is an option to upgrade to a lightweight technical shirt for an additional five dollars. Race bibs are handed out on race day.
Timing is optional; there are no timing chips. Participants may track their own time with common apps and submit results through the organizer's online process for posting. Final participant information and course maps are sent the Wednesday before race day. Coordinators remain on-site for three hours after the first wave to assist arriving participants.
