About the race
The BayRun is a community running festival held around Iron Cove Bay in Sydney. The 2026 event was the 22nd running and took place on Sunday, 2 August 2026. The event brings together local families, school children and elite athletes for family-focused activities along the bay.
The event offers two primary distances:
- 7 km loop for general participants
- 2 km kids dash for younger runners
The BayRun maintains event information online including a results page and an event gallery with photos. The 2026 presenting partner was Wests Ashfield. Organiser materials reference volunteers and community partners as part of event operations, and there are pages for registration, race day information, merchandise, fancy dress and frequently asked questions.
The BayRun presents itself as a local festival-style run that combines recreational participation and competitive elements. It highlights community involvement through schools, clubs and local sponsors, and documents individual times and event photography on its online pages.
