The Barn Run
The Barn Run is a community fundraising event on October 18, 2026 in Williamston, Michigan at 343 E Grand River Rd, hosted by Special Needs Charity Inc. Event proceeds are dedicated to the St. Louis Center. The host organization states its mission as enriching and supporting the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Distances offered:
- 5K (3.1 miles) primarily trail course along the Red Cedar River
- 2K (1 mile) shorter route through woods by the river
Registration opens July 1, 2026. Entry fees for the 5K and 2K are tiered: $30 through September 30 with a guaranteed t-shirt, $35 from October 1 to October 16 with shirts while supplies last, and $40 on race day via online registration with shirts not guaranteed. Ages 18 and under receive an automatic $10 discount. Donations can offset fees: a $100 donation provides a complimentary entry if completed by September 30; after that date a $100 donation provides a $30 discount. A $75 donation reduces the entry fee to $25.
Included items and services: a t-shirt for entries by October 1, a finisher medal for all 2K and 5K participants, and awards for the 5K including overall, Masters, Senior, and top three in multiple age groups for male and female competitors (age groups from 12 and under up to 80 plus). Packet pickup is available the day before at the barn location and the day of the event at the same location. The Michigan Running Foundation will provide professional timing and live results.
An Amish built barn visit for supporters is offered as a separate item. That visit is $30 per family and includes one t-shirt; its registration closes October 17, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
