The Ascent 5K Race
The Ascent 5K Race is a community event held at Rob Fleming Park in The Woodlands, Texas. Organized by The Phoenix Journey, a local nonprofit focused on autoimmune disease awareness, the event is designed to accommodate various levels of participants through running, walking, and rolling.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- The Ascent 5K (Run, Walk, or Roll)
- Kids Dash (0.25 mile for children 10 and under)
- Volunteer & Run
The 5K course includes mile markers throughout the route, allowing participants to choose their own finish distance if desired. There is a one-hour time limit to complete the full course. Registered participants receive a custom race shirt and a finisher medal. The event features a family-friendly atmosphere with music, vendors, and post-race refreshments.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in various age divisions, ranging from 10 & under to 70+. Additional recognition is given for the best costumes, most creative costumes, and the largest participating group. Packet pick-up is located at the Race HQ within the park on the morning of the event.
The event proceeds regardless of rain, shine, or cold, though the course may be altered in the interest of participant safety during inclement weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
