About the race
The Ascent 5K and Wellness Festival is a one-day community event on March 27, 2027, at Rob Fleming Park in The Woodlands, Texas. It is hosted by The Phoenix Journey, a nonprofit that supports people with autoimmune diseases in changing and sustaining lifestyle habits to improve their health.
The event combines a competitive, timed 5K with a family friendly wellness festival that includes music, vendors, giveaways, post-race refreshments, and community activities. Participants receive a custom race shirt and a finisher medal. The 5K course has mile markers and a one hour time limit. Age group awards are given for registered runners across divisions from 10 and under up to 70 and older. Additional awards recognize Best Costume, Most Creative Costume, and Largest Group. Walkers, rollers, and fun-run participants may complete the course at any pace.
A Kids Dash for children 10 and under provides a shorter race experience, with awards for the top three finishers. A Volunteer and Run option combines event support duties with participation in the 5K and includes a participant discount.
