The Ascent 5K
The Ascent 5K is a community run, walk, or roll event organized by The Phoenix Journey, a nonprofit supporting people with autoimmune disease. The event is presented as both a competitive timed 5K and a family-oriented gathering with music, vendors, giveaways, and post-race refreshments.
Features include a competitive, timed 5K with age-group awards across standard divisions, plus additional awards for Best Costume, Most Creative Costume, and Largest Group. Walkers, rollers, and fun-run participants are welcome at any pace. The course has mile markers and a one-hour time limit for completion. All participants receive a custom race shirt and a finisher medal.

A volunteer and run option combines pre-race assistance with event participation and includes a participant discount. Packet pick-up is held at Race HQ at Rob Fleming Park, 6055 Creekside Forest Dr, TX 77389.
The event policy states it proceeds in most weather conditions; start times may be delayed or the course altered for safety. There is a strict no-refund policy, and cancellations or changes are at the discretion of the race management if conditions become unsafe.
