Wilson Gobble Wobble - The Arc of Wilson County
The Wilson Gobble Wobble is the 10th annual 5K and 1 mile event held on Thanksgiving morning. It is an inclusive fun run, walk, or wobble open to participants of all ages and abilities and serves as the primary annual fundraiser for The Arc of Wilson County.
Proceeds from registration, sponsorships, and donations support The Arc of Wilson County. Funds help promote inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, provide a range of social and life skills programs, and support advocacy for their human rights. Program examples include weekly events for children, a summer day camp called Camp Sunshine, and social opportunities such as dances for adults.
Event details include:
- 5K course on an uneven outdoor dirt surface.
- 1 mile family fun route on a track.
The event gathers at J. Burt Gillette Athletic Complex, where participants head to their respective routes. Packet pickup is handled at The Arc of Wilson County office at 421 Nash St NW, Wilson; pickup is scheduled for November 24. Shirts are limited and the last day to guarantee a desired size is October 15. The course is outdoors and uneven, and the routes are mapped for each distance.
