Event Overview
The event is the second annual Picayune Glow Run, which benefits The Arc of Pearl River County. The event takes place at 801 Goodyear Blvd in Picayune, Mississippi. It features two running distances: a timed 5K Glow Run and a 1-Mile Fun Run.
Race Details
The 5K course is a state-certified USATF course, and all runners on this route will be timed by a professional timing company. Registration for the 5K includes a race T-shirt, glow sticks or necklaces, a race bib, a participant medal, and complimentary water and fruit during and after the race. Registration for the 1-Mile Fun Run includes glow sticks or necklaces, a race bib, and a participant medal, with the T-shirt available for separate purchase.
Post-Race Activities
A post-race party is held in the commons area at the start and finish line. Planned activities include multiple food trucks with healthy options, a drink tent, a DJ, glow-themed games, face painting, at least three photo booths, and fun jumps for children. The event states that 100% of the proceeds go to The Arc of Pearl River County, a non-profit organization supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
