The Aliza Lapierre Fan Club Trail Race

The event is a volunteer-run charity trail race hosted by the Richmond Trail Running Club in the Richmond, Vermont area. It is offered as a full ultramarathon, a shorter trail distance, and a two person relay, and proceeds are donated to support affordable skiing and snowboarding lessons through the Cochran's Ski Area non-profit.

The courses run through Huntington, Starksboro, Hinesburg and Richmond and combine paved sections with rugged singletrack. Aid stations supply snacks and drinks approximately every 5 to 7 miles. The organizer notes that the course may change and that runners should follow course markers above all else.

Registration closes on July 17 and day-of registration is not offered. The event began in 2020 when a group of friends ran and hiked the route that later became the current courses; organizers have expressed interest in extending the route to a longer distance in the future. Time limits are published for each distance and participants should consult official race information for those limits and other logistical details.

  • 50K: approx 8 miles road, 23 miles rugged trails, over 5,000 ft climbing
  • 50K two person relay: same course for two person teams
  • 26K: approx 3 to 4 miles road and 13 miles rugged trails, over 2,500 ft climbing

Both races finish at Cochran's Ski and Bike Area in Richmond. Course records and past results are maintained by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
