Route and logistics
The route starts from the beer garden of the Ye Olde Smugglers Inne in Market Square, Alfriston, East Sussex BN26 5UE. Participants are asked to download the GPX file, follow the route on Strava or use a printed race narrative as backup. There are two staffed checkpoint pubs on course (The Hampden Arms and The Ram Inn) where runners hand in a race number to claim a drink and a snack; checkpoints issue beer tokens and water refills may be available. There is a 4 hour 30 minute cut-off for the route. Organisers will try to secure a corner to store bags but advise not to leave valuables, children or pets. Nearest train stations are Berwick and Seaford; local parking includes free spaces and a nearby pay and display car park. Suggested kit includes layers, a lightweight running jacket, a printed route narrative and a mobile phone. Some merchandise is included in the entry fee.
