The Festive Friston Forest 5 mile night trail run
The event is a 5 mile night trail run held on 22 December 2025 at The Plough & Harrow, The Street, Litlington, East Sussex BN26 5RE. It is organised by Multisport Management and limited to participants aged 18 and over. Total places are 40.
Event details
The route is self-navigated using a Strava GPX file on a phone or watch and is predominately anti-clockwise, being the reverse of the Plough & Harroween 5. The course runs mostly through countryside, including forest and downland, and includes a lot of hills. A written narrative will be available to assist with downloading the route, and a tail runner will sweep the course.
Participants are required to be self-sufficient and are advised to carry a head torch, a mobile phone with ICE details, warm layers, and ideally trail running shoes. The event is timed but is described as being more of an adventure in the dark than a competition. Entry includes a race number and a festive finisher's medal; handing the race number in behind the bar is exchanged for a pint, wine, hot drink, or soft drink. The event is festive and in fancy dress; a Christmas-themed outfit prize is offered and time penalties of up to five minutes apply for not wearing fancy dress. Parking spaces are limited.
