The 12 Stories 24 Hour Fairytale Relay Challenge
The event is a themed 24 hour relay for teams of five that combines trail running with story driven puzzles and GPS guided routes. Teams complete a selection of story inspired routes over a 24 hour period; moving time is counted while teams may rest, sleep and socialise between legs. The Library serves as the event headquarters with rules, challenges and secrets.
Routes vary in length and there are up to 15 different routes to choose from. Examples of route lengths include:
- ~5 km
- 5 miles
- 10 km
- 10 miles
On course features include GPS story trails, clues, puzzles and tasks. The event also includes a Funfair or Funground area with activities and rewards, and a Final Story challenge where teams build and present a character. The format asks for different strengths such as speed, teamwork and creativity across the routes.
The main listed weekend for the event is Friday 23 July to Sunday 25 July 2027 at Greenhills Touring Site, Bearley, near Stratford upon Avon; a previous or related weekend is shown as 31 July to 2 August 2026. Arrival on Friday with camping included at the campsite is part of the weekend logistics, and the schedule includes evening entertainment and a relaxed festival atmosphere alongside the running. The event is open to a range of abilities and is organised for five person teams. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
