Thanks for the Trails 5K
The 9th Annual Thanks for the Trails 5K and Kids Fun Run takes place on Saturday, November 28, 2026 at Patton Park in Hamilton, Massachusetts. The event uses a scenic course that starts and finishes at the park and offers prizes for top finishers and several lucky-number awards.

- 5K race
- 1 mile Kids Fun Run for children 12 and under
Online registration fees are listed by the organizer: 5K $25 for ECTA members and $35 for non-members; Kids Fun Run $15. Online registration closes Sunday, November 22. 5K registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. Race day registration is available at the event with a $5 increase for 5K entries; race day fees differ for members and non-members as noted by the organizer.
A Boston Marathon entry will be given away to an online registrant who enters the giveaway. Entry eligibility requires being 18 or older and is non-transferable. A giveaway winner must be present when called and, if selected, is responsible for the Boston Athletic Association entry fee (estimated at $375) and for raising personal sponsorships totaling $3,500 for the Essex County Trail Association.
Packet pick-up is available the day before at New England Running Company for pre-registered participants or at the pre-registration table on race day. Parking is provided on the Myopia Schooling fields with an entrance on Route 1A; participants are asked not to use police or Winthrop Elementary School lots. A dry gazebo will be available for bag check; the organizer is not responsible for lost items. Results are posted at the finish area and published online the day after the event.
Divisions include Men, Women, and Non-Binary categories with standard age groups; Thanks for the Trails hats are guaranteed only for the first 200 registrants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
