Thameside 10/5/1 2026 Races
The event at Thameside Nature Discovery Centre on 24 May 2026 comprises three runs around the reserve and visitor centre. It is organised by Phoenix Striders in partnership with Essex Wildlife Trust and raises funds for Essex Wildlife Trust and Brighter Outcomes for Special People.
Distances
- 10 km two laps of the visitor centre route following hard packed paths, sea wall and tarmac sections
- 5 km one lap of the same route used for the 10 km
- about 1 km Teenies run two loops of the track around the visitor centre
Minimum ages are 16 years for the 10 km and 12 years for the 5 km. The 10 km and 5 km entrants receive bespoke medals and are eligible for trophies in multiple categories including overall male and female and veteran or U16 classes; a Club Trophy for most attendance is also awarded. All adult entrants receive a free child place in the Teenies run collectable with their race bib; additional child entries can be purchased from race control on the day for £5. Entries on the day are available at an additional cost. Race numbers are collected on the day from the Discovery Centre; there are no changing facilities at the Centre but toilets are available.
