Thames Trail Ultra
The Thames Trail Ultra is a point to point ultramarathon held on 6 February 2027 and organised by Go Beyond Challenge. The event starts in Iffley at Hawkwell House Hotel Oxford By Accor, Church Way, Iffley, Oxford OX4 4DZ and finishes in Henley on Thames at the YMCA Y Centre, Lawson Road, RG9 1NZ.
The course follows the Thames Trail for roughly 48 miles (route notes record 48.2 miles). Runners use footpaths, towpaths, cross country and riverside trails, and will cover about 6.6 miles on road. The route is waymarked but requires some navigation; entrants are provided with voice navigation, a GPX file and a tracker.
There are five checkpoints spaced at approximately 8 to 9 mile intervals, each offering water and snacks. Included with entry are a finisher's medal, tracker timed results, aid and water stations, bag transfer, prizes and a tracker. The race is listed as an Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc qualifying event.
All entrants must be at least 18 years old and carry mandatory kit, which may be checked before the start. Mandatory items include a charged mobile phone, head torch and spare batteries, tracker, drinking capacity of 1 litre, survival blanket, waterproof jacket, whistle and warm layers. Bag transfer limits and limited parking at the start are noted; a courtesy shuttle bus from Oxford train station may be available when arranged with the organiser.
