Event overview
The Thames Meander is a riverside race series based at Small Profit Dock Gardens in Barnes, adjacent to Barnes Sports Club (The Club House, 261 Lonsdale Rd, London SW13 9QL). Races follow the Thames Path on out-and-back routes. The course is described as flat and runnable, and it will be waymarked and marshalled. Check points will be stocked with food, gels, drinks and electrolyte powders, and medical support is provided by KLP Medical Supplies. Runners World rated it as one of the top 10 trail marathons in the U.K.
Routes and checkpoints
- 10 km - one out-and-back lap to Kew Gardens Car Park (CP2).
- Half marathon (13.1 miles) - one out-and-back to Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts (CP3).
- Marathon - two 13.1-mile out-and-back loops to Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts.
Check points are located at CP1 Start / Finish Small Profits Dock Gardens, Lonsdale Rd, London SW13 9JS; CP2 Kew Gardens Car Park, Ferry Lane, TW9 3AG; and CP3 Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts, Douglas House, Meadow Close, Richmond TW10 7AH.
