Texasman Triathlon
Texasman Triathlon is a multi-race event on 05/16/2027 at Lake Ray Roberts near Johnson Branch in Valley View, Texas. Races include sprint, Olympic, longer X-50 distances and an aquabike option. Athena and Clydesdale categories are offered for specified weight classes.
Distances for the main formats:
- Texasman Sprint: Swim 400-yard open water, Bike 15.5 miles, Run 3.1 miles
- Texasman Olympic: Swim 1 mile open water, Bike 22.25 miles, Run 6.2 miles
- Texasman X-50: Swim 1 mile open water, Bike 40 miles, Run 9 miles
- Texasman X-50 Aquabike: Swim 1 mile open water, Bike 40 miles, finish at bike dismount
The bike course is rural and the roads remain open to vehicle traffic; the run course is described as shaded. Event notes state the X-50 course has a cutoff time of 1:30pm and that the X-50 course layout changed slightly.
Safety and event policies include a prohibition on sound‑projecting earpieces on course and a rule that riding in the traffic lane is not permitted. The organizers advise reducing tire pressure by about 5 to 8 psi for chip seal roads. Weather may force adjustments: starts can be delayed up to one hour, after which courses may be shortened or altered for safety and cancellation is at the race director’s discretion.
