Texasman Triathlon
The Texasman Triathlon takes place at Lake Ray Roberts in Valley View, TX on 04/25/2027. The event offers multiple race formats on an open water swim, a rural bike course on roads that remain open to vehicle traffic, and a shaded run course. A post-race party and pancakes are provided by Dallas Athletes' chefs.
Distances include:
- Sprint: Swim 400-yard open water, Bike 15.5 miles, Run 3.1 miles
- Olympic: Swim 1 mile open water, Bike 22.25 miles, Run 6.2 miles
- X50: Swim 1 mile open water, Bike 40 miles, Run 9 miles
- X50 Aquabike: Swim 1 mile open water, Bike 40 miles, event ends at bike dismount
There are weight-category divisions labeled Athena for female 165 lbs and Clydesdale for male 220 lbs, with Sprint, Olympic, and X50 options; sprint Athena and Clydesdale list a slightly longer bike distance of 17.5 miles.
Safety and course notes are provided by the organizer. Earpieces that project sound are not allowed on course and riding in the traffic lane is prohibited. The X50 course has a cutoff time of 1:30pm. Weather or safety concerns may lead to course changes or cancellation at the Race Director's discretion. Roads are chip seal; lowering tire pressure by about 5 to 8 psi is recommended for the bike course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
