Terwillegar Trail Run and Walk : key information
The event takes place on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Package pick up is at Riverbend Community Hall, 258 Rhatigan Road NW, on Friday, September 25 from 4:30 to 6:00 PM and on Saturday, September 26 from 6:45 to 7:15 AM. Registration opens in July 2026.
Courses and aid stations:
- 7.5 km walk
- 10 km run
Both events start at the trailhead at the end of Riddell Street. The walk descends on a wide gravel path into Terwillegar Park, follows a perimeter trail of about 4 km that is suitable for trail-style strollers, and has aid stations at 1.5 km and 5.5 km. The walk is dog-friendly because the park is an off-leash area. Volunteers are positioned along the route to guide and assist participants. After the loop participants return to Riverbend Community Hall for a hot buffet breakfast.
The 10 km run moves into narrower, more technical trails with roots and rocks, then single-track sections around ponds with short, steep climbs. An aid station is located at 6.3 km after a sustained climb, followed by an out-and-back section and a long smooth descent that crosses the park entrance road. The final section includes a steady climb out of the park and a short walk back to Riverbend Community Hall where a hot breakfast is available.
