Event Information
The Territorial Triathlon Series takes place at Guthrie Lake in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The event includes seven different events: Olympic-distance triathlon, Sprint triathlon, Beat Buzz Super Sprint triathlon, Olympic Aquabike (swim and bike), Sprint Aquabike, a Duathlon (run-bike-run), and a free Youth Under 12 race.
Course Details
All events start with a swim in Guthrie Lake, which is described as a "no wake" lake where only trolling boats are allowed. The swim takes place in a small cove, which helps reduce waves. Spectators can walk along the shoreline to watch.
The specific distances for the events are:
- Olympic Triathlon: Swim 0.9 miles (1600 yards), Bike 24 miles, Run 6 miles.
- Sprint Triathlon: Swim 500 yards, Bike 18 miles, Run 3 miles.
- Beat Buzz Super Sprint: Swim 200 yards, Bike 6 miles, Run 1 mile.
- Olympic Aquabike: Swim 0.9 miles (1600 yards), Bike 24 miles.
- Sprint Aquabike: Swim 200 yards, Bike 6 miles.
- Duathlon: Run 2 miles, Bike 18 miles, Run 2 miles.
The swim for this event is specified as never being wetsuit legal.
Logistics and Registration
Parking is available close to the transition area. Hotels east of town and a Starbucks near the I-35 on-ramp are noted as nearby amenities. Participants must check in with a photo ID. The transition area requires a bib number for entry, and there is a mandatory pre-race meeting. Participants in the free Youth Under 12 race must contact race management after registering to choose their event, and there may be a charge for event shirts.
