Temptation 200 Ultras is held over Labor Day weekend at Sand Ridge State Forest near Forest City, Illinois. The event weekend includes multiple race options on Saturday and Sunday in early September 2026. Organizers describe the course as hard and use a flexible cutoff policy; the 200K field is allowed up to 40 hours to complete the full distance.

All long-ultra entrants register as 200K participants and may choose to stop at shorter distances on race day. The 50K is two loops of the course; entrants must complete the first loop within 5 hours to proceed to the second loop. On-site upgrades are allowed for the cash difference, with possible mailing of buckle awards if supplies run out. Runners who skip a lower-distance finish and fail to reach the next distance are recorded as a DNF.
Logistics, awards and refunds
Camping at the start/finish is included. There are no showers or electric hookups at the park; Oak Campground provides pit toilets and a hand-powered water pump. Awards include a challenge coin for 50K finishers, buckles for 100K, 150K and 200K finishers, framed course maps for distance winners, and a finish recognition for the last 200K finisher. Registration closes August 25, 2026. Refund and deferral policy: 75% refund until April 30; 60% refund May 1–June 30; deferral only after July 1; no refunds or deferrals after August 26.
