Temptation 200 Ultras : Forest City, IL, Labor Day Weekend 2026
Temptation 200 Ultras is an ultrarunning event held at Sand Ridge State Forest near Forest City, Illinois. The event marks its 8th anniversary and offers multiple distance options that participants may choose or change into on race day. Long ultra entrants register as 200K participants and may stop earlier for an official finish at 50K, 100K, or 150K while still receiving credit and awards for that distance.

The event includes camping at the start and finish area at Oak Campground. There are no showers or electrical hookups in the park; Oak Campground provides pit toilets and a hand powered water pump. Packet pickup is available across the weekend leading into race day. Online upgrades are allowed before race day and upgrades are possible on race day for the cash difference; buckles may be mailed if supplies run out.
Organizers apply flexible cutoffs and may remove runners if completing the chosen distance appears mathematically impossible. 50K entrants must complete their first loop within five hours to continue to the second loop. Awards include a custom challenge coin for 50K finishers, buckles for 100K, 150K, and 200K finishes, framed course maps for winners, and a finishers award for the last 200K finisher.
