Temptation 200 Ultras in Forest City, IL
Temptation 200 Ultras is a multi distance trail event held at Sand Ridge State Forest on Labor Day weekend 2026. The race marks its eighth running and offers multiple official finish distances and on course options that allow runners to change their goal during the event.
Distances offered include:
- 200K
- 50K
- Not At All Tempted 10K
Long ultra entrants register as 200K starters and may stop after completed loops to claim official 100K or 150K finishes. 50K entrants must complete two loops to receive the official 50K finish and the custom Challenge Coin; alternate earlier start options are available but may affect award eligibility. Upgrades to longer distances are permitted online before race day or on race day for a cash difference; buckles may be mailed if supplies run out.
The event uses flexible cutoffs and race directors may remove runners if finishing in the allotted time is not mathematically possible. Camping at the start and finish is included with registration. Oak Campground has pit toilets and a hand powered water pump; there are no showers or electrical hookups in the park. Sweatshirts are not guaranteed for registrations after August 1. Registration closes August 25 at 11:59 PM CT.
