Temptation 200 Ultras 8th Anniversary
Temptation 200 Ultras is a loop-based endurance event held at Sand Ridge State Forest in Forest City, IL during Labor Day Weekend 2026. The event offers multiple distance options on the same course with long-ultra runners initially registered as 200K and allowed to stop at shorter distances during the event.
All long-ultra entrants register as 200K and may choose to continue or exit to claim shorter-distance finishes. The 50K is a two-loop option; finishers for 50K receive a custom challenge coin and an official 50K time. Buckles are awarded for completion of 100K, 150K, and 200K. Winners receive a framed map of the course in a Tolkien style; there is also an award for the last place 200K finisher who meets cutoffs.
Camping at the start/finish area is included with registration. There are no showers or electric hookups in the park; Oak Campground provides pit toilets and a hand-powered water pump. Sweatshirts may not be available for registrations made after August 1.
Upgrades to longer distances can be done online before the event; on race day upgrades are possible for the cash difference, though buckle fulfillment may be by mail if supplies run out. Registration closes August 25. The refund and deferral policy lists partial refunds and deadlines and allows deferrals under specified conditions.
