Temptation 200 Ultras : Sand Ridge State Forest, Forest City, IL (Sep 5, 2026)
Temptation 200 is the eighth running of a looped ultramarathon weekend held at Sand Ridge State Forest. The event lists three distance options:
- 200K
- 50K
- Not Tempted 10K
All long-ultra entrants register as 200K and may choose to stop at shorter distances during the event; short-ultra runners may enter the 50K only option. The 50K requires participants to complete the first loop in five hours or less to proceed to the second loop for an official 50K finish. Upgrades between distances are permitted online before race day; race-day upgrades are possible for the cash difference but some awards may be mailed if supplies run out.
Awards include a custom challenge coin for 50K finishers, distance-specific buckles for 100K, 150K, and 200K, framed course maps for winners, and an award designated for the final 200K finisher who meets cutoffs. The race uses flexible cutoffs; race directors may remove runners who are unlikely to complete the 200K within the allotted maximum time.
Camping at the start/finish is included in the entry fee. Oak Campground provides pit toilets and a hand-powered water pump; there are no showers or electrical hookups.
