Event overview
The TEF Tenafly 5K Run and Dog Walk is the 28th edition of an annual community fundraiser held in Tenafly, New Jersey. The event is USATF-sanctioned and has historically drawn more than 1,500 runners and over 100 dogs following the same course. The start and finish are at Tenafly Middle School on Sunset Lane. All registered participants receive a t-shirt, a goodie-filled tote bag and other merchandise while supplies last, and all finishers receive a medal. A course map is available for download.

Registration opens February 1, 2026. Posted entry prices include $30 for the 5K Run and 5K Dog Walk, $20 for the Dog Parade and Tiger Cub Races, and $25 for the JCC 1-Mile Fun Run. The event includes a Family Health & Fitness Fair with local vendors, face painting and community activities. The race is presented by the Palisades Running Club. All proceeds benefit the Tenafly Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds teacher-initiated programs; the event raised over $50,000 in 2025 and has raised more than $850,000 since 1999.
