TEF Tenafly 5K Run and Dog Walk : June 7, 2026
The TEF Tenafly 5K Run and Dog Walk is a community fundraiser held at Tenafly Middle School in Tenafly, New Jersey. The event features timed and untimed running and family activities and supports the Tenafly Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds teacher-initiated programs in Tenafly public schools. The Tenafly 5K has drawn more than 1,500 runners in the past and the event raised over $50,000 in 2025, with total proceeds since inception exceeding $850,000.
Race offerings include:
- 5K Run
- 5K Dog Walk
- JCC 1-Mile Fun Run
- Tiger Cub Races: Under 4 - 25 yards; 4 - 50 yards; 5 - 75 yards; 6 - 100 yards
Registered participants receive a t-shirt while supplies last, a goodie-filled tote bag, and finishers receive a medal. The 5K awards are given by clock time and include multiple categories such as top overall finishers, age groups, Tenafly resident and grade awards, school staff, stroller trot, and youth divisions. The Dog Walk and Dog Parade have specific safety rules: dogs must be leashed on school property, extended or hands-free leashes are prohibited, and owners must clean up after their dogs.
