Teesdale Triathlon
Teesdale Triathlon is a club-organised event run by Darlington Triathlon Club on 20 September 2026 at Teesdale Leisure Centre and Teesdale Sports Centre in Barnard Castle. The organiser describes a friendly, club-led atmosphere with club marshals and local proceeds supporting the sport.
The race comprises three stages with a short tarmac transition area. The swim takes place in a pool at Teesdale Leisure Centre. The bike stage follows an undulating, tarmac loop through the Teeside countryside. The run is a 5 km route over trails and paths; the run stage uses closed roads for part of the course.
Distances:
- 400 m pool swim at Teesdale Leisure Centre
- 18 miles bike loop on undulating tarmac
- 5 km run on mixed-surface trails and paths
Event services include chip timing, medical support, full marshals, numbered racking, finisher’s prizes and catering for competitors and supporters. The venue provides accessible changing, parking, showers and toilets; competitor parking is available a short walk from the centre. The event is capped with an expected field of about 160 competitors. Online entry is listed, with an entry fee shown and an entry closing date on the organiser page. A permit is currently in progress with British Triathlon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
