Teesdale Triathlon 2026
Teesdale Triathlon is a sprint triathlon organised by Darlington Triathlon Club on 20 September 2026 at Teesdale Leisure Centre, Strathmore Road, Barnard Castle, DL12 8DS, County Durham. The event expects around 160 competitors and has a minimum entry age of 16 years.
The sprint format includes these disciplines and distances:
- 400 m pool swim
- 20 km bike, one lap on an undulating route
- 5 km off road run, one lap finishing at the leisure centre
Event facilities and race features include chip timing, numbered racking in transition, finisher prizes, a custom event T-shirt, on-site parking, changing areas, hot showers and toilets. Accessible parking, changing areas, showers and toilets are provided.
Swim starts are organised by estimated 400 m swim time; swimmers are placed into lanes with similar ability. Breaststroke and front crawl are permitted; backstroke is not allowed when lanes contain multiple swimmers. Tumble turns are permitted. Swim times may be updated after registration.
The event is held under British Triathlon competition rules. There is a pre-race briefing on the morning of the event, and marshals and volunteers are present on course.
