50K Tribute Run
This annual 31-mile (50K) tribute run starts at Prospect Park's Grand Army Plaza entrance in Brooklyn and finishes at W. 228th Street and Broadway in the Bronx. The route includes a clockwise loop of Prospect Park, a northward exit onto Flatbush Avenue, crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, a long stretch on the Hudson River Greenway to 59th Street, a clockwise loop through Central Park, and a final northerly route via Dyckman Street and Broadway into the Bronx. The published course may change for inclement weather or construction.
The event offers both in-person and virtual entry options. The virtual option can be completed on any single day or consecutive days during the provided window and includes an option for local virtual entrants to run the final 10 miles on race day. Some registration levels include a shirt or hoodie plus a medal; a basic registration is offered without shirt or medal. Medals and shirts are issued after finishers submit completion evidence and are shipped within 1 to 3 weeks.
This is an untimed, non-marked course. Bag check is provided at the start and transferred to the finish. The run continues to be held each year to mark the birth anniversary of the figure recognized as the father of American long-distance running.
