2nd Annual Team Kopacz 5K Run/Walk : Knock Out the Miles for PD
The event is a fundraising 5K Run/Walk taking place at Sucker Lake Regional Park in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota on September 20, 2026. It is organized by the Team Kopacz Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that supports Parkinson's disease research.
The foundation previously ran a golf fundraiser for seven years and raised more than $250,000 for Parkinson's research. The inaugural 5K raised $20,000 for Parkinson's exercise research at the University of Minnesota. Funds for this edition are targeted to support the University of Minnesota SPARX3 trial, which studies how different exercise intensity levels affect Parkinson's symptoms and progression. The event materials note that exercise is currently considered the only treatment thought to slow PD progression.

- Kid's Dash 1/2 mile (ages 10 and under)
Registrations include a finisher shirt and medal; shirt availability is guaranteed until September 13. Packet pickup is offered at the Shoreview Community Center the day before the event and on the morning of the event at Sucker Lake Park. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female in each listed age group. Pets and strollers are welcome on the course with caution to avoid blocking runners.
