2nd Annual Team Kopacz 5K Run/Walk - Knock Out the Miles for PD
This community event is organized by the Team Kopacz Foundation to raise funds for Parkinson's disease research. It takes place at Sucker Lake Pavilion #2 on Sucker Lake Road in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota. The foundation supports Parkinson's research at the University of Minnesota and is fundraising for the U of MN SPARX3 trial, which studies exercise intensity and its effects on Parkinson's symptoms and progression. The foundation lists a fundraising goal of $20,000.
Event activities include a family friendly warm up, a kid's dash for children ages 10 and under, and an awards presentation with prizes and a kid zone. Packet pickup is available the day before at the Shoreview Community Center (4580 Victoria Street North, Shoreview, MN) and the morning of the event at Snail Lake Regional Park in Shoreview. Registrations include a finisher shirt and a medal; shirt availability is guaranteed until Sunday, September 13.
Race rules note that no pets are permitted on the course. Prizes are planned for the top male and female finishers in each age group: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 plus.
