2nd Annual Team Kopacz 5K Run/Walk : Knock Out the Miles for PD
The Team Kopacz Foundation organizes the second annual 5K Run/Walk on September 20, 2026 at Sucker Lake Pavilion #2, Sucker Lake Rd, Vadnais Heights, MN. The event raises funds for Parkinson’s Disease research and specifically supports the University of Minnesota SPARX3 trial, which studies how different levels of exercise intensity affect Parkinson’s symptoms and progression.
The foundation previously ran a golf event that raised over $250,000 for Parkinson’s research. The inaugural 5K the prior year raised $20,000 for Parkinson’s exercise research at the University of Minnesota. Current fundraising shows $1,824.13 raised toward a $20,000 goal.
Distances offered:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 mile stroll
- Kid’s Dash, 1/2 mile for ages 10 and under
Race registrations include a finisher shirt and medal; shirt availability is guaranteed until September 13. Prizes will be awarded to top male and female finishers in each age group: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. Pets and strollers are permitted on the course with care to avoid blocking runners.
Packet pickup is available the day before at Shoreview Community Center (4580 Victoria Street North, Shoreview, MN 55126) and the morning of the event at Snail Lake Regional Park in Shoreview. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
