2nd Annual Team Kopacz 5K Run/Walk
The Team Kopacz 5K Run/Walk returns to Vadnais Heights for its second annual event at Sucker Lake Regional Park. Organized by the Team Kopacz Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, the event raises funds to support Parkinson’s Disease research. Specifically, the foundation supports the University of Minnesota SPARX3 trial, which investigates how different exercise intensities affect the symptoms and progression of Parkinson’s Disease.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 mile stroll
- 1/2 mile Kid's Dash (ages 10 and under)
The course is open to both pets and strollers, though participants are asked to avoid blocking the path of other runners. Registration includes a finisher shirt and a medal. The event also features an award ceremony following the races, with prizes for the top male and female winners across several age categories ranging from 19 and under to 80 and over. Additional activities on site include a kid's zone with games.
Packet pickup is available the day before the race at the Shoreview Community Center or on the morning of the event at Sucker Lake Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
