TCS New York City Marathon Training Series 12M
This is a 12-mile training race in Central Park on Saturday, August 15, 2026, presented as the first of two TCS New York City Marathon Training Series events. It is designed to help runners prepare for the TCS New York City Marathon on November 1 and to support race-day planning and pacing.
The course consists of two full loops of Central Park, six miles each, on the park’s undulating roadways with mile markers and fluid stations. Key course features include Harlem Hill, the Reservoir, the approach toward the marathon finish area near West 67th Street, the 72nd Street Transverse and Central Park Boathouse, Cat Hill, the Fred Lebow statue at Engineers' Gate, and the 102nd Street Cross Drive; on the second loop runners turn left onto the Cross Drive to finish. Maurten gels are available at mile 6.
Race amenities include on-course water and sports drink, a gel depot, and post-finish food items such as water, sports drink, a Maurten solid bar, apples, and pretzels. Volunteer-led refill stations and reusable hydration cups are provided at designated locations on course. A NYRR Pace Team will be present to guide groups at target marathon paces with no additional fee.
Practical notes: bib and premium pickup are offered at the New Balance Run Hub in early August, bib pickup on race day is available at Race-Day Central, bag check is located at the 102nd Street Transverse, and the event is a scored race and a 9+1 program qualifier. The member-only standby list for the event is full. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
