Tavistock Triathlon takes place on 12 July 2026 at Mount Kelly, Tavistock PL19 0HZ, set on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. The event uses Mount Kelly’s 50m Olympic Legacy Pool for the swim and stages bike and run courses that pass across open moorland and mostly traffic-free roads, with run sections that include views from viaducts. The finish is in front of Mount Kelly School.

Three senior race distances are offered:

  • Little Squirrel (Super Sprint): 200m swim, 12.3 km bike, 2.5 km run
  • Big Squirrel (Sprint): 400m swim, 18 km bike, 5.4 km run
  • Olympic Squirrel (Olympic): 800m swim, 36 km bike, 10 km run

A junior event programme runs in the afternoon for 5 to 16 year olds. Senior entries are open to those aged 17 and over on 31/12/2026; the Super Sprint has a minimum age of 15 on 31/12/2026.

The event is part of the Cornish Tri Series. Series scoring uses a best-of-three system plus a volunteering requirement to qualify for overall awards; age-group categories run from Open (17-39) to Super Vintage (70+). Entry prices are shown between £43 and £57. Volunteer rewards include credits or donations to clubs for supplying volunteers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
