The TARS 5k Awareness Event
The TARS 5k return to Corpus Christi, Texas, for its fourth annual edition at The Water’s Edge Park. This community event is organized by TARS Awareness Texas, a nonprofit organization focused on supporting individuals and families affected by TARS Syndrome. The gathering serves to increase education and inclusion for those living with this rare condition.
Participants can choose from two primary distances:
- 5 km
- 1 mile
The event features a variety of registration categories, including options with or without finisher medals and event shirts for different age groups. A virtual registration option is also available for those who cannot attend in person but wish to receive a participant shirt and medal.
The event atmosphere includes music, games, food, and drinks. While the focus is on awareness and community support, official awards are presented to the Overall Male and Female winners, as well as Master Male and Female winners. Participants are encouraged to wear blue shirts during the race to show their support for the cause. Early packet pick-up is held at Fleet Feet on Airline Road on the day before the event, with additional pick-up available at the park on the day of the race.
