Event Overview

The TARS 5K is the fourth annual running and walking event to raise awareness for TARS Syndrome. It is organized by TARS Awareness Texas, a nonprofit that supports individuals and families affected by the condition and promotes education and inclusion.

Location & Date

The event takes place at Water’s Edge Park in Corpus Christi, Texas, on April 10, 2026.

Distances

Participants can choose from two main distances:

5K Run/Walk
1 Mile Walk

A Virtual 5K option is also available for those unable to attend in person.

Registration & Perks

Registration is divided into age categories for the 5K. A price increase for participants aged 17 and under is noted for March 1, 2026. Registrants for the 5K receive an event T-shirt and a finisher medal. Participants in the 1 Mile Walk receive a T-shirt only. Virtual runners also receive a T-shirt and finisher medal.

Post-Race & Awards

The event includes drinks, food, games, and music. Awards are given for overall male and female finishers, as well as master male and female finishers.
