Tantalus 10-Mile Challenge
The Tantalus 10-Mile Challenge is a distance running event held in Honolulu, Hawaii. The race follows a single-loop course that begins and ends on Makiki Heights Drive, specifically near the Halau Kumana School. The route is characterized by significant elevation changes throughout the 10-mile distance.
Participants navigate a course that includes an uphill climb for approximately five miles. This ascent begins on Makiki Heights Drive and continues onto Tantalus Drive. After reaching the peak of the climb, the course transitions into a downhill section along Round Top Drive. The final segment of the race requires runners to complete a concluding uphill section on Makiki Heights Drive to reach the finish line.

Registration for the event includes a set fee and is open for a designated period prior to the race date. Participants who anticipate a finish time exceeding 2.5 hours are permitted to utilize an earlier start option. Those selecting the early start are required to use a flashlight or headlamp for visibility and are not eligible for overall or age group awards.
