Tanner's Run - 4th Annual
Tanner's Run is set for Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Halfmoon Town Park. The event was created in memory of Tanner, a Golden Retriever who enjoyed running and playing ball. Tanner was diagnosed with melanoma, lived for about a year after that diagnosis, and passed away a few days before his ninth birthday in 2024.
The event began to help people facing veterinary costs for pet cancer treatment. Organizers say funds raised are intended to provide financial support for families dealing with pet cancer. For the 2026 edition, all money raised will be donated to the family of Moose, a seven year old Golden Retriever from Clifton Park. Moose recently had surgery to remove a very large cancerous tumor and is currently recovering.
Organizers note ongoing community support for the event and report that people have contributed to making it an annual occurrence. The description focuses on the memorial nature of the run and the event's role as a fundraising effort to assist with veterinary care costs for dogs affected by cancer.
