Tamara Private Hospital Tamworth Running Festival
The Tamara Private Hospital Tamworth Running Festival is a community running day held in Tamworth at Kable Avenue, New South Wales. The event dates back to 1974, was started by three locals, and is described as the third oldest fun run in New South Wales. It features a range of races and a community walk, and had 286 participants listed for 2026.
The original 1974 course began outside Tamworth Town Hall, ran down Peel Street, climbed a hilly section in East Tamworth and returned to No 1 Oval. That early route crossed the New England Highway three times; the course has changed over the years.
