Tamara Private Hospital Tamworth Running Festival
The Tamara Private Hospital Tamworth Running Festival is scheduled for 2 August 2026 in Kable Avenue, Tamworth NSW, Australia. It is a long‑running community event that was started by three locals and is described as the third oldest Fun Run in New South Wales. The festival has a history dating back to 1974; the original course began outside Tamworth Town Hall, ran down Peel Street, climbed a hilly section in East Tamworth and returned to No 1 Oval, crossing the New England Highway three times. The course has changed over the years.
The event offers multiple race options with age guidelines:
- Marathon (42.195 km), 18 years and over
- Half marathon (21.1 km), 16 years and over
- Ten (10 km), 13 years and over
- Fun Five (5 km), all ages
- My First Fun Run, ages 0 to 12
- Community 6 km walk, all ages, $5 payable on the day
