Course and relay details
Both the marathon and half marathon are run on USATF certified courses. The full marathon is a qualifying course for the Boston Marathon.
The start is on Monroe Street across from the Florida Capitol. The route runs north through Downtown, through the Glenview Drive residential area, Midtown, Calhoun Street and Franklin Boulevard, around Cascades Park, up Lafayette Street into Myers Park, across the Capital Cascades Crossing pedestrian bridge and along FAMU Way. Half marathon runners head toward Florida State University. Full marathon runners use the St. Marks Trail, run alongside Lake Henrietta and through the Jake Gaither neighborhood, then rejoin the half course and proceed through the FSU area and CollegeTown to the finish. Surfaces are paved except for a 0.1 mile dirt access path on the full marathon route.
Relay teams of four run the full marathon course only. There is a 6-hour cutoff (pace roughly 13:44 per mile). Divisions are men, women and co-ed. Team members must register separately. Leg distances are about 6, 6, 9 and 5 miles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
