Tallahassee Marathon and Half Marathon
The Tallahassee Marathon and associated races are held in Tallahassee, Florida, at 301 S Monroe Street. The event is organized by the Gulf Winds Track Club, a local nonprofit and all-volunteer group. The race traces back to 1975 when it began with two participants.
Distances offered include:
- 26.2 Miles - Tallahassee Marathon
- 13.1 Miles - Tallahassee Half Marathon
- 26.2 Miles - Marathon Relay (team event)
Participant feedback highlights scenic neighborhoods with large oak trees and hanging moss, and course sections that pass through Florida State University and Florida A&M University campuses. Aid stations, volunteers, and police were noted for supporting runners along the route. The marathon and half marathon finish areas are described as lively, with a finish zone on Madison Street and a celebration in College Town and Cascades that includes local vendors.
The marathon relay is for four-person teams on the full marathon course. Relay legs are approximately 6 miles, 6 miles, 9 miles, and 5 miles. There is a six-hour cutoff, which implies an approximate required pace of 13:44 per mile or faster for the full course. Relay divisions include men, women, and coed, and each team member registers separately.
Registration opens on 2026-06-01 and closes on 2026-09-30. Listed entry fees are $100 for the marathon, $60 for the half marathon, and $45 for the relay. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
