Roadford Lake Triathlon
The event is a multi-distance triathlon held at Roadford Lake, Broadwoodwidger, Lifton, PL16 0RL. Swimming takes place in the lake where open-water swimming is not normally permitted. The bike leg uses quiet local roads over one or two laps, and the run is mainly on gravel paths with one, two or four laps depending on the distance. Lakeside camping and camper van parking are available approximately one mile from transition and must be booked separately.
Three main race formats and relay options are offered:
- Middle distance: 1.9K swim, 93K bike, 20K run.
- Standard distance: 1500m swim, 46K bike, 10K run.
- Sprint distance: 750m swim, 20K bike, 5K run.
Team relay is available for the Sprint and Standard distances, with each team member typically completing one discipline and handing on the timing chip in transition. Minimum ages apply for each race category.
Event facilities and services include finishers medals and podium prizes, professional event photos, silicone swim hats, personalised race numbers, secure numbered racking in transition, toilets, professional RFID chip timing and a British Triathlon permit. Optional extras and additional charges may apply for camping, t-shirts made from recycled bottles, high-resolution photos and sports massage therapy.
