Takeley 10K
The Takeley 10K is an annual community road race held in Takeley, with the 2026 event scheduled for 6th September 2026. The course is described as a scenic route that starts along the Old Disused Railway Track and finishes at the Takeley Silver Jubilee Hall. The event is organised with support from local groups and volunteers, including marshals, water stations, registration teams and a PA system.
The race began in 2010 to raise funds for refurbishment work at the Takeley Silver Jubilee Hall. Phase 1 of the hall refurbishment was completed in May 2014 and phase 2 in 2016. The event has grown year on year; there were 417 finishers in 2025 and the 2026 race has a maximum of 600 entries available.
