Event overview
The 24th Annual Tails & Trails takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Tallahassee, Florida. The event offers the following race distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- 1 Mile
Entry options include t-shirt and no-t-shirt prices. The listed base prices are $20 for the 5K, 10K and 1 Mile, and $30 for the Half Marathon. The event materials also list alternate pricing and family rates for the shorter distances. Registration for some events opens in February 2026. Race proceeds benefit the Animal Shelter Foundation (ASF), a volunteer-created nonprofit that supports animals in the care of Tallahassee Animal Services.
Location, course and logistics
The event is based at Tallahassee Animal Services, 1125 Easterwood Dr, Tallahassee, FL 32311. All races start at the BMX parking area, a short trail walk from the Animal Shelter at Tom Brown Park, and finish at the shelter's back parking lot. None of the courses are run on Easterwood Drive; Easterwood will remain open before and during the races. Organizers request participants leave their pets at home for safety reasons and to highlight the shelter animals. Course maps are provided as downloadable PDFs.
