Event overview
The Tannenbaum 6K is a Gulf Winds Track Club cross-country race held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, in Tallahassee, Florida. The event takes place at the Buck Lake Trailhead of Leon County's Headwaters Greenway, 10995 Buck Lake Road. The race distance is 6K. The Florida Association of USA Track and Field has designated the race as the 2025 State Cross-Country Championship for youth, open, and master athletes; eligible athletes must have a valid USATF membership and complete the championship sign-up process to compete for championship awards.
Course, registration and awards
The 2025 race uses a new two-loop course at the Buck Lake Trailhead. The route goes through fields and woodland and uses surfaces of grass and gravel with multiple bridges. Organizers note this course has fewer hills than the usual venue at Apalachee Regional Park and that the race will return to that park in 2026 when the other course is available. Packet pickup and registration take place at Headwaters Greenway from 7:45 to 8:45 AM. Early registration through December 18 is $20 with a $5 discount for Gulf Winds Track Club members; after December 18 the fee is $25 with no discounts. Awards include top overall male and female and first place awards in age groups from 8 & under up to 70 & over. The first 100 registered runners receive running gloves.
