Sydney Trail Half Marathon Summer Edition
The Sydney Trail Half Marathon Summer Edition takes place at Lake Parramatta Reserve on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December 2026. The event is presented by 180 Cadence and uses Lake Parramatta as both the start and finish location.
The course is a single lap of 21 KM with total elevation gain and loss of approximately 386 m. The route combines waterfront trails, technical single track and fire trail sections. Along the way runners pass a waterfall, lakeside viewpoints and areas under tall eucalypt canopy.
Aid stations are located at about 9.5 km and 14.5 km, with an additional aid point at the finish. Aid station supplies include an energy drink mix, fruit, lollies and water. The event has a strict four hour cutoff time for the half marathon.
Because sections of the course are remote, every runner is required to carry mandatory gear: one fully charged mobile phone with a live SIM capable of calls and internet, a compression bandage and at least 500 ml of water carrying capacity. The event is cupless so runners must carry their own cup, bottle or hydration device.
Logistics note that parking is available outside the lake and on surrounding streets but not inside the lake area. The start line is near the Lake Parramatta cafe with nearby restroom facilities. Bag drop will be provided at a 180 Cadence gazebo. Race capacity is limited to 500 runners per day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
