Sydney Trail Half Marathon - Night Edition
The Sydney Trail Half Marathon - Night Edition is a point-to-point trail race through Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. The route covers 21.1 km with approximately +556 m / -556 m of elevation, moving from Golden Jubilee Field (back oval) to St Ives Showground (Louise Lennon Pavilion). The course mixes flowing single track, technical climbs, fire trails and waterfront sections that require careful footing in the dark.
The event is run at night and a head torch is mandatory. Runners must carry a fully charged mobile phone with a working SIM and a minimum water carrying capacity of 500 ml; the race is cupless so athletes must bring their own cup, bottle, flask or hydration vest. There is a strict 4 hour cutoff for the half marathon.
Aid is provided at an on-course aid station at the Warrimoo Track exit (15.8 km) stocked with PURE Nutrition gels and electrolyte mix, plus an aid station at the finish. Course markings and traffic control marshals are used at road crossings. Race services include finish-line aid, free race photos, a finisher medal, a race singlet and a bag drop operated by the 180 Cadence drop bag van; bags must be labelled with the runner bib and contain no loose valuables.
Bib collection is available during race week and on race day. Parking is plentiful at St Ives Showground and limited at Golden Jubilee Field; an optional coach shuttle runs from St Ives Showground to the start. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
