Event details
The Sy-5K takes place on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Keller Town Hall, 1100 Bear Creek Pkwy., Keller, TX 76248. The event is science fiction themed and is organized by Run Different. Distances and options offered:
- Kid's Dash - short 100–200 meter sprint, free to enter.
- 5K - timed race with age group awards.
- 2 Mile - untimed event, no age group awards.
- Virtual Option - shirt and medal shipped the week of the race.
Registration notes: registration for some events ends January 10, 2026. Registrants for the 5K and 2 Mile are advised to register by December 27 to guarantee t-shirt size. Some event fees increase after November 30, 2025.
Awards, extras and charity
Registered participants in the 5K and 2 Mile receive an event-themed participation t-shirt and a finisher medal. The Kid's Dash participants may purchase a t-shirt and finisher medal as add-ons. Age group awards for the 5K are given four deep for male and female divisions from 0-4 through 80+. Overall medals are awarded for overall male and female, male and female masters (40+), and male and female grand masters (60+). All awards are distributed at the event and will not be shipped. Run Different donates 15% of event profits and 100% of donations to Encounter Church (Fate). Volunteers receive a code for a free race entry as a thank you.
