Swiss Wine Festival Vevay River Run 5K
This event features two 5K events in Vevay held near Paul Ogle Riverfront Park: a timed 5K run and a competitive 5K walk. Both courses begin at the edge of the Ohio River, follow scenic Market Street, circle the town of Vevay, and finish back at Ogle Riverfront Park. The route is on hard-surface streets and is described as flat.
The run is timed and awards are given to the top finisher in each of seven age categories for both male and female divisions, plus overall male and female winners. Age brackets are 14 and under, 15 through 18, 19 through 29, 30 through 39, 40 through 49, 50 through 59, and 60 and over. A random drawing for prizes is held for participants after the event.
The walk is organized as a competitive event with awards for the top male and top female walker; there are no age categories for the walk. The running and walking events take place alongside the Swiss Wine Festival, which includes food booths, entertainment on three stages, arts and crafts, a grape stomp, amusement rides, and a grand festival parade.
