Swindon Half Marathon
The Swindon Half Marathon takes place on a closed-road route that leads participants through the town of Swindon and into the surrounding countryside. This event supports the Prospect Hospice and follows a course that passes through the villages of Wanborough, Badbury, and Medbourne.
The terrain for the 13.1 mile distance varies by section. The first 5 miles of the route are mostly flat, followed by undulating terrain between miles 5 and 10. The final section of the course features a downhill finish into the event area. Distance flags mark every kilometre along the route to help runners monitor their progress.
Participants have access to an event village that includes various food and beverage options. After crossing the finish line, runners receive a unique medal and post-event treats from event partners.
The event is organized with a focus on sustainability. Participants have the option to purchase an event t-shirt featuring the race logo during the registration process, as these are not automatically included in the entry to reduce overall costs and waste. Marshals are stationed throughout the course to provide guidance to all participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
