Swimrun Australia: Gold Coast is a point-to-point coastal event that links ocean swims, creek crossings, beach runs and boardwalks along the Gold Coast coastline. The course passes locations such as Rainbow Bay, Currumbin, Tallebudgera Creek, Burleigh Beach and Miami, with the Surfers Paradise skyline visible from parts of the route. The format combines multiple swim and run sections and includes on-course nutrition, live tracking and safety support.
Choose from three distances:
- Enduro 20.0 : 20.0 km total; 2.9 km swim; 17.1 km run; 15 sections; solo or team; minimum age 17+
- Experience 12.0 : 12.1 km total; 1.7 km swim; 10.4 km run; 11 sections; solo or team; minimum age 15+
- Discovery 5.0 : 5.0 km total; 1.1 km swims; 3.9 km run; 7 sections; solo only; minimum age 13+
Basic eligibility and fitness guidance is published for each race. Discovery and Experience entrants should be able to swim 750 metres continuously in open water. Enduro entrants should be able to swim 1,000 metres continuously and hold the listed swim and run paces.
Logistics note: athletes must travel to start locations at Rainbow Bay, Currumbin or Tallebudgera; parking is limited. The organiser will transport race gear from start to finish. Entries open in May and follow tiered pricing; entries close at midnight on 9 September unless sold out. A one day AusTriathlon licence is required at $4.50 for non-members. The event provides free on-course and finish-line photos and offers lead-up community sessions including swimrun meet-ups, a pool-run winter series and social open water swims.
