About the race
RECC. Run the World Relay is a team relay held at Broadwater Parklands on the Gold Coast waterways. Teams of four compete over a timed looped course of 5 km, with each runner completing two flat and fast loops in the twilight race format.
The event offers four competition divisions: Open Female, Open Male, Open Mixed (two female and two male runners) and Junior Mixed (two female and two male runners racing 4 x 2.5 km). Mixed teams with other gender combinations may compete but are not eligible for podium awards.
Race day is Friday December 4th, 2026, and entries open in September 2026. The event program includes on-site prizes and giveaways, food vendors, live music and beverages available at the venue. The course setting is within Broadwater Parklands and is described as a looped waterfront route suited to repeated laps during the relay.
Results are recorded for the event. Event partners and local suppliers support the relay. The race format and division structure create multiple team categories and a social race atmosphere with spectators and team interaction along the looped course.
