Swazi 5K
The Swazi 5K is an annual event held in Bethany, Oklahoma, at Southern Nazarene University. Now in its 18th year, the event brings together participants of all ages from across central Oklahoma. The race serves as a fundraiser for ministries located in Bethany and Eswatini (formerly Swaziland). These efforts support the Eswatini Partnership, a collaboration between various health and religious institutions aiming to address HIV/AIDS, TB, noncommunicable diseases, and domestic abuse.
Participants can choose from several in-person and virtual options:
- 5 km Run or Walk
- 1 mile Fun Run
- 5 km Virtual Run or Walk
- Virtual Bike Ride
The in-person categories are divided into student and adult groups. The 5 km course is officially chip-timed and holds a certified road race certificate. The event is organized by the Bethany First Church of the Nazarene in coordination with Southern Nazarene University. While the primary race day is an in-person gathering at the university campus, virtual alternatives allow for participation from other locations.
