Swarthmore Lions Independence Eve events
The event comprises an 8K road race and a 2 1/2 Mile Walk in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, with packet pick-up in the Borough Hall lobby at 121 Park Avenue.

The 8K follows a relatively flat route through tree-lined residential neighborhoods. The walk follows the first loop of the 8K course. Entry fees are listed for preregistration and are higher on race day. Tech t-shirts are guaranteed to all preregistered runners and walkers while supplies last. On-site registration and packet pick-up take place in the Borough Hall lobby on race day.
Awards are presented to the first three overall male and female finishers and to the first three male and female finishers in nine age groups: 10 and under, 11-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Refreshments are provided after the race.
Proceeds support Lions charities, including organizations assisting people with visual impairments such as the Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Chester and the Delaware Valley Eye Bank. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
