Swansea Half Marathon
The Swansea Half Marathon is a city road race that follows a coastal route along Swansea Bay. The course runs past landmarks such as Swansea Arena, Brangwyn Hall, Swansea Castle and Swansea Museum before reaching the seaside village of Mumbles. About five miles of the route run beside the bay, providing extended coastal views.
The route has a total elevation gain of 36 metres and is described as flat and fast. Roads are fully closed to traffic for the event. Water is provided approximately every three miles with Brecon Carreg supplies. The race is UKA licensed and AIMS certified. Organisers provide official pacers across a range of times and published training plans for participants.
Facilities and logistics include a bespoke medal made from 100% recycled zinc, entertainment zones along the route, spectator-friendly sections and wheelchair accessible arrangements. The event is organised by Front Runner Events with Mizuno named as headline partner. The event programme has included additional races on the same day such as a five mile race and a family fun run, plus charity and corporate entry options.
