The Maverick X Series Afan Forest 2025 is a trail running event set in the scenic Afan Forest Park, South Wales. Offering four route options—Ultra (50 km, 1133 m elevation), Long (42 km, 970 m), Middle (25 km, 625 m), and Short (10 km, 232 m)—the course features a mix of hard-packed gravel trails and technical descents. Runners start with a climb past wind turbines, enjoy woodland paths, rolling hills, and heathland streams, finishing with a challenging 2.5 km ascent known as "The Wall." The event emphasizes environmental care with reusable cups and offers well-marked trails, outposts, and a friendly atmosphere suitable for all levels.
