Event overview

The Swansea Bay 10k is an annual road race held along Swansea Bay. The event has taken place for over 40 years and was named Best 10k in Wales in 2018 and 2019. The 2026 race is scheduled for Sunday 20 September 2026. Around 4,000 people enter the main race each year. The event is open to people aged 15 and over and includes additional races for younger participants and other categories.

The course is described as fast and flat and runs along the sweep of Swansea Bay. Every finisher receives a bespoke Swansea Bay 10k medal. There are two water stations on the course, at the halfway (5km) mark and at the finish. First aid is provided by St John’s Ambulance volunteers and a team of paramedics, with a base at the finish. Toilets are available near the start and finish and at several points along the route. Volunteer stewards are positioned on the course to assist runners.

Entries are managed in advance; there is no entry or registration on race day. Race number transfers are allowed only via the event’s registration system for a fee. The event has recycling measures, electric race vehicles, and a Trees Not Tees option to replace or supplement a finisher T-shirt with tree planting.
