The Great Christmas Fun Run
The Great Christmas Fun Run is a festive sporting event held in Mumbles, Swansea. Participants are encouraged to wear festive costumes and Santa hats to contribute to the holiday atmosphere. The event features a variety of distances to accommodate different age groups:
- 10 km - Open to participants aged 15 and over.
- 5 km - Open to participants aged 11 and over.
- 1 km - A kids race for children aged 13 and under.
The run course starts and finishes at Oyster Wharf and follows the seafront promenade. The 1 km fun run utilizes an out and back route on the promenade. For the longer distances, the path remains along the seafront, where runners are required to keep to the left side to share the space with other path users.
Participants receive chip timing for their run and a festive medal upon completion. The event provides water stations and general event facilities on-site. An award ceremony is held following the conclusion of the races.
