SW5K : Event information
SW5K is part of the Outdoor Sundays event series at SWBible in Beaverton, Oregon. The program includes a 5K run and a 5K walk, a free 1 mile fun run, and a Para Athlete category. Chip timing is used for the 5K races and bag check is available for all participants.
The 5K run awards first place medals in 11 male and 11 female age divisions: under 12, 12–14, 15–19, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–43, 44–49, 50–59, and 60 and better. Para Athlete winners receive one male and one female medal. Larger medals are given to the top three overall male and top three overall female 5K finishers. A hydration station is located along Teal at about the halfway point of the 5K route.
Fees for the 5K run and 5K walk are $5 until August 16 and $10 after that date. The 1 mile fun run is free. Unisex shirts are available for purchase at the event for $10. Online registration is open through August 29 at 12:00pm. Official results will be posted online after the event.
Location: 14605 SW Weir Rd, Beaverton, OR 97007. Course routes run through a suburban setting on lightly used roadways with sidewalks and neighborhood asphalt trails. Course support and intersection security are provided by the Beaverton Police Department, with event permitting and counsel from the City of Beaverton.
