Event Overview
The SVR Winter Series is a set of eight in-person races held from December 7, 2025 to March 7, 2026 in and around Winchester, Virginia (ZIP 22604). The series is organized by Shenandoah Valley Runners, a non-profit running club.
Events take place at different locations across the northern Shenandoah Valley, including South Berkeley, Blandy Experimental Farm, West Oaks Farmers Market, Museum of the Shenandoah Valley, Third Winchester Battlefield, Middletown, Summit Point Motorsports Park, and Strasburg High School.
Earphones, pets, and strollers are not allowed in any race.

Races and Distances
The series includes:
- Event #1: South Berkeley Christmas 5K
- Event #2: Jingle Bell 5K at Blandy Farm
- Event #3: Wags at West Oaks Farmers Market (distance not stated)
- Event #4: 60 Minutes at Museum of the Shenandoah Valley (time-based)
- Event #5: Gambler 5K at Third Winchester Battlefield
- Event #6: Heart & Soles 5K at Middletown
- Event #7: 4 miles at Summit Point Motorsports Park
- Event #8: Ram Run 5K at Strasburg High School
Runners can register for the full series or for single races. Full series registration is open to active club members only.
Timing, Scoring, and Awards
Race #1 uses numbered bibs for all runners. For races 2 to 8, full-series participants use a reusable shoe timing chip; single-race runners receive a bib. Lost shoe chips can be replaced for a fee.
Series points are awarded after each race for overall and age group placing, with up to 500 points per race per category. Final scores use a runner’s top 6 finishes (or fewer if races are canceled). Runners must complete a minimum number of races to be eligible for awards.
Awards are given to overall top five males and females and top three in detailed age groups from 10 & under up to 80 & over. A Perfect Attendance award goes to SVR members who attend all scheduled events. Series awards are presented at the SVR Banquet on April 11, 2026 at Millwood Station Banquet Hall in Winchester.
Swag
Runners registered for the full Winter Series receive an SVR knit beanie, with four styles available. Swag is guaranteed only for the first 800 full-series runners to check in. There is no race-specific swag for single events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
