Friends of the Poor Walk/Fun Run 2026
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, District Council of Rochester Minnesota, will host the 13th annual Friends of the Poor Walk/Fun Run on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Church of the Resurrection in Rochester MN.
The proposed route begins and ends at the trail near the church. The full loop is slightly longer than a 5k at about 3.3 miles and runs along the Bear Creek River. Four marked spots along the route will have Course Marshals to help guide participants. Water will be available at the second spot on the loop and again at the loop exit. Porta-potties are placed near the third spot, and indoor restrooms are available at the church.
A Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast will take place in Fr. Zenk Hall during and after the Walk/Run. Registration to walk or run is available online; late online registrations may not be reflected on event rosters at check-in. Donations can be made online, or by check or cash at the event check-in tables; checks should be made payable to The Society of St Vincent de Paul. Credit card payments are not available at the event check-in tables.
Additional event materials include a slideshow from the 2025 Walk and informational items about sponsors and community support. A video message about the 2026 Walk is also available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
